Weekend Art Challenge – Horse in Motion

Welcome to this weekends art challenge. This time we would like you to study horses and their moment. You can place them within any kind of scene, wither it be realistic or a blurred effect, just as long as the horse is moving along, cantering, running, jumping, trotting etc. Choose to portray one or more horses, in any medium, the choice is yours.

This challenge should inspire you to create the majestic moment within a horse. Its power and force driving along with graceful momentum.

Perhaps look at some old master paintings like The Horse Fair by Rosa Bonheur which we have added below, along with the study of which is simply stunning. Perhaps none of the horses within the scene are not moving fast, they are however all moving and you can almost feel the sense of power and energy within the scene.

One of the most famous horse paintings of all time has to be Whistlejacket by George Stubbs and we just add to include it for inspiration.

We are very much looking forward to seeing what you all come up with this week. If you need to ask questions please do drop into our Facebook group and post there. We would love to hear from you.
