My name is Kakuko Okamura and I just finished the Illustration course with a distinction. I’m so delighted to complete the course with good results. Last year I completed the children’s illustration course. Perhaps my lack of understanding of what illustration is or my drawing and painting skill was not good enough? I didn’t do well and I didn’t enjoy the course much.
So when I finished children’s illustration I changed to the illustration course as I wanted to learn more about general illustration. This course had six assignments, each a different illustration genre. Each assignment was a new challenge for me and I learned lots as well as finding it quite enjoyable. If anybody is thinking to do children’s illustration and not sure about what you really want I highly recommend to do the illustration diploma first. This will help you find your suitability for your area of illustration.

Now what is my future?
One thing is sure, I’ll keep drawing and painting.
