Weekend Art Challenge Artwork – Pot Plants!

Welcome to this weeks artwork for our weekend challenge – Pot Plants. We have received a beautiful array of paintings and drawings which you can read about and view them below.

Sheila Brown’s amazing study of her pot plant comprises of cacti grown in wood. We love it. Sheila said….

“The plant I have on my windowsill is not growing in a pot, but is a cactus garden grown in a log. I planted this up about a year ago at a workshop, and am delighted that it is still surviving and growing.”

New student Roseana Mayumi has created a lovely drawing of her pot plant and has noted the shadows from the leaves on the surrounding walls and surfaces well. Superb work!

Dylan F Jeske has created a really beautiful and very pretty painting of her pot plant which was a Christmas present from her lovely neighbour. Isn’t it delightful!!

Maria Ei Zar has been really busy this week and has worked on two paintings which we have added below. One watercolour of a rose in a vase and another watercolour of a plant in a pot. We love them and wanted to include them both here. There is no limit to the amount of images students can send!

Pauline has created a painting of her stunning orchid. We can see that a lot of work has gone into creating this painting and very delicately done too. Even down to the see through tub with the roots inside. Well done Pauline!

A big shout out to digital artist Malgosa who created a line of three plants in vector. We love seeing digital artists work here and would encourage any of our digital art students to give the challenges a go too. We would love to see your results!

Finally Jayne Burden has created a lovely pastel of her orchid. Jayne said..

“I have been away and took my sketch book with me for the first time and did some sketching on holiday. I haven’t used pastels to paint flowers before so I thought I would give it a go!”

Well done Jayne! Excellent work and thank you so much for sharing it with us!

Keep an eye out tomorrow for the next challenge and we will post students results here this time next week!
