Here’s a happy ending to my personal Graphic Design journey, although I have to say I spent almost double the time on this particular many-faceted (and fascinating) course. Its content, sheer range of applications, the problem-solving, and all the demands of the discipline I thoroughly relished. The attentive critiques were therefore very much appreciated.
Fortuitously, this past Spring Nantwich Museum in Cheshire ran their first-ever Open Art Exhibition – the theme being ‘Heritage’. A historian at heart, I decided I really should enter. I combined this knowledge with my graphic design and especially lettering skills. Out of 220 entries, mine was one of just 70 selected. Delighted – yes; but there’s more. My piece wasn’t returned to me at the end of the exhibition. Instead it was sold. Definitely a neat way to finish – and celebrate – my studies!
So, what’s the natural next step forward? To sign up for Digital Illustration. Looking forward to this happy new start!
