Welcome to our latest weekend art challenge results. This week we set our students the task of creating artwork around the subject of a bottle and glass. Glass is a wonderfully reflective texture to portray and lighting can play a big part within the artwork. You can see some of the beautiful pieces of artwork below which incorporate plenty of light and colour and this really adds to the overall creativity of the artwork.
We love that the students have used a wide variety of mediums for this challenge, from watercolour, acrylics, gouache, pencil and mixed media too. Well done to all of our students who took part this week, we love everyone’s artwork! So much effort has been put into them, you should all be really pleased!

It’s a pear shaped glass container, that I have recently planted up. I have used pen and ink, watercolour, coloured pencil and acrylic paint!!
I’ve tried to show the contrast between the misted glass and the hole where there is no glass, as well as the reflections from the pale wall behind!!!! I enjoyed creating it more than I thought I would!!

I have painted it in watercolour and have tried to show the colours swirling in the glass, as well as the reflection on the table. I don’t usually paint as loosely as this, but am pleased with how it’s turned out.

I do love to paint the subject especially glasses and their lighting reflection under the strong light. Beautiful flowers and lighting. I love much this work.
