Weekend Art Challenge – Scary Halloween Jars!

Welcome to our latest weekend art challenge. We always try to have a scary Halloween challenge, however this year we decided to set something a little different. We know that some of our students are crafters as well as artists so this incorporates both skills. We would like you to design and paint your own Halloween jar and add a tea light inside to make it glow. We are all creative, so if you have never tackled something like this, now is your time to shine!

You can use a food jar that you have discarded or you might have a Mason Jar or a similar branded one hidden in your cupboards. If you don’t have one, then you can simply design and paint yours on paper! Once you have made it take some photos in daylight.. and perhaps some in the night time with it glowing. We cant wait to see!

We have added some ideas below for you, linked to the websites we got them from. Research this online and you will find plenty of inspiration.

Post your entries on Facebook, or email them to us. Please note if you do post on Facebook we might miss it, so if you really want to see your work here, make sure you email it to us!

The idea of these challenges is to help students improve their skills by drawing, painting and creating regularly.

So try to submit work that you have created specifically for the challenge – or course work you are currently creating for your art course. Sometimes our challenge themes cross over with what students are learning. Our challenges are great practive for your coursework too!

Remember to submit your artwork to us via email if you would like it posted on our blog next week.
