Weekend Art Challenge – Under Sea Delight

We are absolutely thrilled to share the incredible artwork that students have submitted for our “Under the Sea” art challenge this weekend. You have truly amazed us with your imagination and skills!

First and foremost, we must mention student Nina Kottoor for her under the sea piece that we have chosen as our featured image this week. With a graceful flow of undersea creatures that dance across the painting over the beautiful and colourful sea bed – superb! Well done Nina on a wonderful painting.

We also would like to mention student Claudia Wellwood’s excellent illustration. We can easily imagine Claudia’s creation with a story in the centre of the illustration for a children’s book. Well done, Claudia!

While we have highlighted Nina and Claudia’s artwork, we want to take a moment to appreciate all of the pieces submitted. You are all truly inspiring!!

Stay tuned for the next challenge coming tomorrow!

A very mixed medium collage. For the turtle and ocean I’ve used watercolour paints. There’s a variety of materials used: sequins, material & paper flowers, silver ball balls, scrap pieces of cut up foil, and a mixture of two broken necklaces.

This is my entry for this week’s weekend challenge – it is inspired by my seahorse trinket box.
The seahorse trinket box is opening up to release the sea creatures of its dreams.
All the fish in the painting are residents in my sons marine tank – so all are drawn from life.

‘Well, I guess one of these marine creatures is about to be delighted. That’s the ocean for ya. Pen and wash with coloured inks.’
