Shirley Snow

Pet Portrait student Shirley Snow has completed her Pet Portraits Diploma Course and created some beautiful artwork in the process. The pet portrait course covers all aspects of learning to draw and paint pets from studying eyes, noses, mouths, feathers and fur to name but a few.

The course gives plenty of examples and step by steps in how to paint pets including tackling backgrounds which Shirley has created in her painting of the Labrador and Spaniel below. Backgrounds for pet portraits are not easy! Getting the right amount of detail, the correct eye level, a good composition and using the ideal colours to compliment the pets can be tricky, but we feel Shirley has achieved it here in her painting below.

If you feel you are up to the challenge and would like to give it a go, visit our Pet Portraits Diploma course page and give it a go yourself.
