Simones Dragons…

We are delighted to showcase Simone Prices’ work who is currently undertaking the Children’s Illustration course. We hope that she has a prosperous career ahead of her as a children’s Illustrator! This is what Simone said about her work and why she decided to join the London Art College course……

“…..I decided to join the Childrens Book Illustration course at LAC as I have always loved Art and Design however after gaining my BA(Hons)Art and Design from York St John University I felt i had gone down the wrong route by focusing my studies mostly on product design. After University I somehow found myself working as a Business Development Officer for a building society and after leaving this job to have my daughter last year I decided it was time I followed my dreams and looked into childrens illustration, I have always admired the work of Tim Burton (although a little scary for young children) and Korky Paul for example. The course at LAC is ideal as I look after my daughter full time and so working from home and in my own time is perfect. The illustrations shown here are from a selection of work I did for the briefs ‘Fiery Fred’ and ‘The Cow Who Went Looking for a Friend’. I always get totally carried away with a brief and so ended up with a portfolio full of cows and dragons!I am loving the course and hope with lots and lots of practise I will become confident and able enough to make a career from illustration one day. Practice makes perfect!…”
