Christine Heales

We are delighted to share the work of Christine Heales, who has been studying our Drawing and Painting Diploma with tutor Paul Weaver. Christine came to the course describing herself as a doodler, with little more than school art behind her and a quiet hope of finding her style. Looking at these beautiful paintings, we think it is fair to say she has done exactly that!

What strikes us about Christine’s work is how confidently she moves between different subjects and media. Her watercolours have a lovely freshness to them, from a charming robin perched on a post, painted with real delicacy and warmth, to a dreamy Tuscan scene viewed through a kitchen window that transports you entirely. Her oil paintings are equally impressive, capturing dramatic skies, choppy seas and sweeping Highland landscapes with a boldness and atmosphere that feels very much her own.

There is a real sense of someone who has discovered not just the ability she was hoping to find, but a genuine love of the process too. That comes through in every piece, and it is a joy to see. We cannot wait to see where Christine goes from here.

Our thanks as always to tutor Paul Weaver. If you would like to find out more about our Drawing and Painting Diploma, we would love to hear from you!
