We are absolutely delighted to congratulate Jaki Randall on completing the Landscape Painting Diploma Course with a very well deserved Distinction!
Jaki studied under the guidance of tutor Paul Weaver, and as Paul noted, she produced so many wonderful pieces throughout the course that it was genuinely difficult to choose which to share here on the blog. That really does say it all.
The work Jaki has produced is a joy to look at, ranging across an impressive variety of subjects, styles and media. Her watercolours show a real sensitivity and confidence, from a gloriously detailed cottage doorway smothered in climbing roses and hollyhocks, to quietly atmospheric riverside scenes and a charming countryside view complete with a classic red telephone box. Her pencil and ink drawings are equally accomplished, with a bold, expressive quality that brings real energy to subjects as varied as a tightly packed flock of sheep, ancient castle steps and a beautiful study of silver birch trees. There is also a striking oil painting on circular canvas, and a wonderfully textured blue-toned piece that feels almost dreamlike in its atmosphere.
What shines through across all of Jaki’s work is an artist who is genuinely engaged with the world around her, constantly observing and experimenting, and thoroughly enjoying the process of making art.
