Lucy Hammond

For her second assignment, Lucy Hammond continued to impress us with her artwork. Working with pen and ink, she illustrated the classic verse There was a man from Nantucket with wit and character. She then experimented with drypoint etching, collagraph, and digital overlays, producing layered, textural illustrations that show both technical skill and creative imagination.

Lucy also created a digital piece inspired by Lucy Maud Montgomery’s poem The Seeker. Her ability to translate poetry into visual imagery is remarkable, capturing mood and narrative in a way that feels both contemporary and timeless.

Her tutor, Steven Hersey, has been very impressed with Lucy’s progress, noting that her work demonstrates both exceptional technical ability and a growing confidence in experimenting with media and style. Well done Lucy for another outstanding set of work… we can’t wait to see the next instalment.
