We are delighted to share some wonderful news from one of our tutors, Paul Weaver, who tutors our Drawing and Painting course here at the London Art College. He is holding a solo exhibition of his paintings this autumn, and everyone is warmly invited along.
The exhibition, titled Light & Life, is a lovely celebration of the atmosphere, movement and beautiful play of light that Paul brings to his work. If you have ever admired the harbour scenes, boats and luminous skies in Paul’s demonstrations, this is a rare chance to see his paintings up close and in person.
Light & Life takes place at Frenchay Village Hall, Beckspool Road, Frenchay, Bristol BS16 1NU, over the weekend of Friday 30th October to Sunday 1st November 2026. Opening times are 12.30pm to 4pm on the Friday, and 10am to 4pm on both the Saturday and Sunday. Tea, coffee, cold drinks and cakes will be available throughout, with all proceeds being donated to Dementia UK, so you can enjoy a slice of something delicious while supporting a very worthwhile cause.
Paul very kindly mentioned that he hopes the exhibition shows his students he is trying to practise what he preaches, and we think it does exactly that. There is nothing more inspiring than seeing your tutor out there creating, exhibiting and sharing their passion, and we know it will encourage many of you to keep going with your own work.
If you are anywhere near Bristol that weekend, do pop along, say hello to Paul and enjoy an afternoon surrounded by beautiful paintings. We wish Paul every success with the exhibition and hope it is a real celebration of light, life and everything that makes his work so special.
