We are thrilled to feature student Kimberly Hunter’s first assignment on the Coloured Pencil Drawing Certificate Course. Kimberly has submitted a series of observational studies using both graphite and coloured pencils, including everyday items like a mug and spoon, a Costa cup with cashew butter and bread and a glass with a crushed can – all completed from life.
Her work demonstrates a thoughtful approach to still life drawing. Each object has been rendered with precision and care, whether in delicate graphite shading or carefully layered coloured pencil. Kimberly has also experimented with a variety of pencil brands and surfaces, noting how different materials affect both technique and results.
Kimberly’s determination and creative thinking are inspiring, and it is clear she is passionate about developing her skills. Her goal is to one day exhibit her artwork with her local art group – and we are confident she is well on her way!
If you are inspired by Kimberly’s artwork and would like to learn how to create drawings in coloured pencil, why not explore the Coloured Pencil Drawing Certificate Course? Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your technique, this course offers step-by-step guidance and personal tutor feedback.
