We are thrilled to share the fabulous artwork of Raffaella Somma, who has recently completed our Pet Portrait Diploma Course here at the London Art College. Raffaella has produced an incredible body of work during her time with us and the three pieces featured here are just a glimpse into her artwork she produced on the course.
Her close up portrait of a black dog in pastel is beautiful. The emotion in the eyes really connect with the viewer. The detail in the fur and the soft textures all combine to create a piece that stands out to us as an overall lovely piece of artwork.

In her next piece, Raffaella captures two dogs in a poppy filled meadow. This colourful composition brings a lovely sense of life and movement, with both dogs looking full of personality. The setting is beautifully painted with vibrant reds and blues giving contrast to the green background. A really cheerful and expressive painting.

Finally, her energetic white horse galloping through a woodland backdrop is full of drama and motion. The loose painterly style of the background contrasts perfectly with the horse, lit beautifully against the warm tones of the sky. Plenty of movement here and a superb painting.

Raffaella should feel incredibly proud of what she’s achieved on our course. Well done Raffaella!
