Weekend Art Challenge – Collage of Memories

Welcome to our latest weekend art challenge, where we asked our students to create a collage of memories from their life. It could be anything from their childhood, family, or even about their grandparents memories. It could be tackled in anyway they wished, be it drawings, photos or even created digitally. We just wanted it to be shown in a collage format.

The students who have taken part this week have really gone all out to convey their memories and it has ben really lovely being able to share their memories with them. We even have a video of one students artwork! Scroll down to view it, its a must see!

We hope that our readers and viewers enjoy it too. For those students who missed out on this weeks challenge, please give it a go at home. It really is a lovely one to work on and something a bit different and creative.

Stay tuned for our new challenge tomorrow!

My curtain-raiser trip. To the Soviet Union and Scandinavia by coach, 1979. First time I took detailed travel notes to fully appreciate my journeys, and have been producing personal travel pieces ever since. A real collage of exciting memories for me… theatre tickets, itineraries, souvenirs, photos, and a real Russian shawl for those curtains!! What a great challenge!

Here is my collage, it is my childhood memories and rather than use the actual photos I decided to draw them from my memories!
I found it more emotional than I thought I would, and there is a little symbolism in there too!!
