Diane Spong

Meet Diane Spong, a dedicated London Art College student who is currently on set 4 of her assignments. Diane has been putting in tremendous effort and commitment to her studies, and we are thrilled by the latest two drawings she has submitted.

As Diane continues to progress through her coursework, we wanted to take a moment to recognize her accomplishments thus far and wish her the best of luck as she prepares for her final set of assignments. It is students like Diane who inspire us and remind us of the power of dedication and passion in achieving one’s goals.

Diane wrote some information to go along side her artwork which we thought would be interesting for our viewers. We hope you enjoy reading and viewing Diane’s work.

I have chosen coloured pencils (polychromes) I find they are practical and hassle free, not a lot of prepping involved, they are light and portable. I love the control you have while using coloured pencil, the drawback is they are very slow you have to put layer upon layer.

The full bodied dog was done on maize coloured clairefontaine pastelmat . Which I used as a simple background I chose this colour to harmonise with the dogs fur. I’ve changed the flower from creamy yellow to red and made it larger. I wanted a hint of another colour in there. If this was a real commission I would have discussed the changed of colour with the client. The head drawing was done on white clairefontaine pastelmat with a simple background.
