Weekend Art Challenge – Moon & Stars

Welcome to our fabulous weekend challenge where we set our students the task of creating a drawing or painting on the theme of ‘Moon and Stars’.

Our featured image this week is by student Sian Perry who has created this amazing scene of her dogs and family. Sian says….. “….it is in memory of my two dogs, one of whom I recently lost…” Scroll down to see the artwork in full and read about her work too. We absolutely love it Sian – well done for a fabulous piece.

We also have to note Norman Tharby’s painting of Orion (below) which is perfectly timed with what’s happening at the moment in space. If anyone isn’t aware, take a look at the Orion News here.

We have a very important challenge coming tomorrow, one that is a little different. Perfect for this time of year too. Stay tuned to hear all about it!!

This is an A4 acrylic painting on canvas using a pallet knife. I’ve entitled it ‘Orion Approaching’ after the current news from space.

Weekend Challenge: moon and stars. This is just a quick and fun collage of the nursery rhyme” Hey diddle diddle the cat and the fiddle”

Weekend Challenge – Moon and Stars. In this case, it’s more of a fanciful ‘dancing with the stars ‘ as the moon looks on, amused.

Weekend challenge. With so much junk mail I didn’t spot what the subject was this week, so I did my own thing and by complete coincidence did this. No stars I’m afraid but close enough! Acrylic.

the timing of the weekend challenge couldn’t have been more perfect, I was finishing this up as it came up.
It’s in memory of my two dogs, one of whom I recently lost, done with my photos and the background is from pixabay.
