Weekend Art Challenge – Steam Trains

Welcome to our latest weekend art challenge on the theme of Steam trains! Not an easy subject as it deals with some perspective, but our studnets have done brillaintly!

We absolutely love Cliffords Herbert’s steam train, which is our featured image this week. The paper colour that Clifford has used gives the overall feeling of and oldie worldly feel, adding to the authenticity of the steam train theme. Well done Clifford!

We also are very impressed with Natalies technical drawing of a steam train below too. Excellently drawn and observed, her use of pen and ink is superb!

We hope that you enjoyed this challenge, stay tuned for another one tomorrow!

Steam Trains. This drawing is based on a photograph I took of the locomotive, Sherwood Forester, a few years ago. I’ve never taken on such a technical drawing before and can already see where I need to up-skill.
