Lucy Manship

I have never worked in ink before and discovered it is a really enjoyable way to work and loved the smooth finish. This is very different to anything I have ever drawn before, so it was a challenge, but a great exercise in discovering new ideas. I bought some coloured inks and look forward to experimenting with them in the future.

On the whole I was pleased with my outcome on this exercise. I was uncertain whether we could add in shades of grey so did keep it entirely black and white – if I had been working on a computer I would have enjoyed experimenting with some pale grey shading in the tent and on the ghosts and around the moon. But I didn’t feel brave enough to do this on my finished piece of work in case it spoilt the effect.
