Weekend Art Challenge – Ducks

Welcome to the results of this weekend’s art challenge. We absolutely loved the theme of this art challenge, and we hope our students enjoyed it too. Ducks are the most wonderful subjects for drawing and painting, from realism to cartoon character drawing, the options were endless.

Our feature image this week is by student Dinah Barker. Aren’t the three ducklings the cutest?! Dinah painted it in watercolour and it was the perfect medium for them. Scroll down to see it in full. We also have to mention Emma Miller’s Jemima Puddle Duck too. It’s superb!

We hope that you have all enjoyed this weekends challenge. Another one is on it’s way tomorrow!

Couldn’t resist copying this Beatrix Potter creation!

For this drawing I’ve drawn the duck I’ve drawn on the feathers with brown and green dry watercolour pencils. The background is children’s paint and metallic silver paint mixed in. The plants are drawn in with both metallic and watercolour pencils. And to finish off my feathered friend I’ve added a googly eye.

The weekend has long gone so a very hasty duck doodle.
