Weekend Art Challenge – Spring

Spring is officially here! So our weekend challenge theme this week was of course Spring! And what beautiful spring like paintings we have received.

Our featured image this week is by student Aggie Choy who created the painting in watercolour. If you scroll to the bottom of the page you will see the painting in full. It’s beautiful and the colours are so fresh and happy.

Luiza Varovici created the spring flowers below in pen and watercolour and we love it, so crisp and a perfect illustration too. Student Cheryl Day has also painted a stunning watercolour full of spring inspiration. So many amazing things to see in there, it’s a must to study below. Finally another we just have to mention is the piece by Julie Smalley, with sheep, sky and cotton wool. Its fabulous!! Everyone’s artwork is brilliant, you all did so well this week.

We hope that everyone enjoyed this challenge. Stay tuned for a new Weekend Art Challenge posted here tomorrow.

I’ve painted these in my local neighbourhood in Kingswood Bristol this weekend.

These crocuses are oil on canvas – these have appeared on the local recreational ground’s re-wilding grass border, growing though last year’s leftovers! Spring is wonderful!
