A symbolic offering with olive branch, Peace Lily and, of course, a seedling. Because to plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow.

A dove. For the background children’s paints were used. I used bubble wrap and cotton pads to add a bit of texture. The dove had mixed mediums used on it. White children’s paint was used for the body, outlined with a silver metallic pen, dry coloured pencils for the beak and claws. And for the finishing touch a goggly eye.

‘Peace’ I wanted to incorporate the blue and yellow of Ukraine and felt that as a painting ‘Peace’ is a rather abstract thing, so I set out my colours and I let my peaceful feelings loose. Not sure on the result as both colour and concept are a bit out of my comfort zone. I wish I could help the people of Ukraine in some way.

Peace is such a precious treasure. We should be very carefully with it. I painted this picture some days ago, for peace in Ukraine.
