Angelique Johanson

Watercolour Diploma student Angelique Johanson set herself the task of creating an Alice in Wonderland illustration for her final assignment for the watercolour course. The painting below is the final image, however we have added a couple of her previous versions too, as we always find things like this fascinating.

The process of creating and designing a painting can be a very long one, with preliminary sketches, working out colours, light, shadows and tweaking the design. Its always useful to do a colour study prior to the final design. This way you can iron out anything that crops up. Angelique did a number of paintings prior to the final one and we feel it has turned out beautifully! We hope you enjoy viewing them all.
