Weekend Art Challenge – Sentimental Object

Welcome to this weeks artwork for our most recent weekend challenge – Sentimental Objects. This was a great challenge as it allowed our students to choose exactly what they wanted to draw from anything in their home that means a lot to them, in any setting. We have not only some beautiful artwork, but stories for you to read too. We hope you enjoy viewing them!

‘Scamper’ is my most treasured possession given to me by my late father when I was a small girl. I was performing in the school choir at the Christmas Fayre and my Dad jumped up and down behind the conductor with Scamper on his shoulders (which he had just won on a stall for me). Needless to say, this made the entire choir burst into giggles. The teacher wasn’t impressed. As a teacher now myself, I get it… but I just remember the immense joy I felt at being my father’s daughter x

This Christmas Ball reminds me of my childhood and all the bright memories of this family holiday. This smiling tiny doll inside actually looks like mini me excited with a hundred of dreams and wishes. And she is equipped to fulfill them all – as she has her magic star and wings 😉

For this week’s challenge I have drawn my gold charm bracelet which was given to me for my 18th birthday from a special auntie and uncle.  I have had this for many years and have been lucky to receive charms at Christmas and birthdays, in fact there are more charms than in the picture as it can be quite heavy!
