Weekend Art Challenge – Pebbles!

Welcome to this weeks challenge – a very outdoorsy one for the summer – pebbles! We certainly set our students quite a challenge this week as pebbles are not easy to capture in pencil, paint or digital. However our students have created some amazing pieces of artwork and we hope you enjoy viewing them all below.

Sheila managed to combine a bbq and a photoshoot with pebbles and a dog looking longingly at their bbq – what a perfect opportunity that just couldn’t be missed! We also wanted to give a mention to Connie Hohman Berry as she has started a beautiful digital piece which is very three dimensional and realistic and we are looking forward to seeing it finished and posted on our Facebook group in the coming weeks.

There definitely will be another challenge tomorrow, however we hope that our students have noted that we have opened our yearly London Art College competition. If you havent seen it here is a link – London Art College Art Competition 2019 Open to all current students with a chance of prize, so don’t delay, get the ideas flowing for your artwork for that too!

Happy painting everyone!

On Saturday evening a group of us were having a BBQ when along came this little
“adorable, “ and sat hoping for a BBQ sausage.  I saw my opportunity for “the pebble challenge, “

I tried copying one of the photos to try to get the pebbles with a wet effect!

…obviously I didn’t finish, but this was my start on the weekend challenge. I did this using ArtRage on my iPad – just getting started trying some digital art.

My “Lively Still Life” which colourfully reminds me of an amazing trip to Cyprus with my sister and her little daughter. While my lovely niece was enjoying new country, the seaside, her first swims and practicing her English for the first time – I adopted her curiosity and was enjoying every moment too. I started noticing so many beautiful details in surrounding nature, that even stones became my inspiration and… a colourful drawing.

I selected a photo of stones and pebbles with grass in it. I liked it because the depiction looked lively for the theme.
