Virginia Cowlishaw

Day five of our coloured pencil week and today is the work of student Virginia Cowlishaw. If anyone is going to inspire you this week, it has to be Virginia’s work. Her glass study in particular is outstanding. The glass feels three dimensional, it has solidity, light, shadows and is reflecting all of the colours in its surroundings beautifully. If Virginia hadn’t added a dark coloured magazine in the scene then she would have found it difficult to shade the glass with it being see through. Congratulations Virginia on two wonderful pieces of artwork.

If you would like to create illustrations similar to Virginia, pop over to our coloured pencil course page to find out how.
