Gary Scarisbrick

An interesting post today by student Gary Scarisbrick. He submitted these two beautiful illustrations to tutor Maggy Roberts for one of his assignments. The first drawing is a preliminary study and the second is a final illustration in full colour. It is great to see how Gary designed his victorian town house showing all of the rooms and furniture. Gary has altered the perspective so that we can also see the front of the house with the doors, windows and balcony. Very clever! The final illustration has a lovely background of terraced houses, with much less detail being a little more muted with pastel colours to allow his main townhouse to be the centre feature. Its all superb. If you are interested in learning how to illustrate for children, pop on over to our Illustrating Children’s Book Diploma Course page to find out more about it.
