We will now be posting all of the student opportunities over in The Common Room. Please visit ‘College News, Announcements, Competitions and Work Opportunities‘ for posts from external sources regarding job opportunities for students. Students don’t have to be a registered member to view the student forum.
As some of our students are already aware, we now have a brand new forum called ‘The Common Room’. It’s bursting with life already, even though its only been up and running for a couple of weeks! We have more students interacting together on our new forum as the software is much more up to date and easier to use.
Students can either register for a new account or they can login using their Facebook or Twitter login. Students can also upload their artwork directly to the forum which is proving to be very popular. It is very easy to start a new discussion as you can see from the screen capture below, its the big blue button! Choose your category to post, and away you go. We have sections for students to introduce themselves with plenty of help files to get them started, so why not pop over today to introduce yourself and post some of your work for us to see!
Visit The Common Room here – http://forum.london-artcollege.co.uk
We have received an email from BubblyBox. If any of our students enter, please do let us know! As always the London Art College is not affiliated with this offer and students offer their services at their own risk.

About a month ago we put out a request on our Facebook page for students, past and present, to email us with their favourite piece of work that they had done recently and we received some wonderful emails which we have featured here on the blog. One students who passed the Pet Portrait Diploma with flying colours has got in touch with two of her recent pieces. If you would like to see more of Bea’s work, you can visit Bea’s gallery here >>
It’s been two years since I completed the Pet Portrait Course. Just been checking out your Facebook and saw that you were inviting past students to submit some of their work. So here are a couple, one in pastel pencil and Cretacolour Nero Pencils, that I’ve completed this year.
I’ve dabbled in just about all the mediums, still struggling with oils and finally decided that pencils are my favourite, graphite and pastel pencils and of course animals are my first preference.
I’ve attended a few workshops that have been held locally, there is a known
artist, Kate Jenvey and last week-end I attended one of her workshops doing Coloured Pencils. Kate works mainly in graphite, coloured pencils and oil, her works is realistic and detailed, which might be of interest to your readers. http://www.katejenvey.com/
Two of my graphite kangaroos were sold and sent off to Germany, I was thrilled about that!
