Pam Cherry is currently working towards gaining her certificate in Still Life Paintings with the London Art College. The still life course is tutored by artist and tutor Alan Dedman. He is very knowledgeable about still life paintings and drawings. Alan creates his own still life painting in his own studio. He often\u00a0studies old master paintings and still life and works of famous artists. Alan is quite happy to impart his extensive knowledge about everything still life to students.<\/p>\n

The two paintings below, have been beautifully painted by Pam and we hope you’ll like them too.\u00a0An excerpt from Pam’s\u00a0introduction to Alan Dedman\u00a0when starting the course is below.<\/p>\n

I would like to improve my painting and drawing skills and improve on my lights and dark too. Due to this I feel I need\u00a0to learn how to set up lighting for a still life and make a still life come to ‘life’! I have a tendency to paint a picture with not enough variation in tone. Furthermore I would like to learn to hold my pencil and\u00a0brushes\u00a0correctly\u00a0and not grip\u00a0them so tightly. In addition I hope the course will encourage me to do more painting and drawing under instruction\u00a0at home during the winter months.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
