There is something truly joyful about wild flowers, and this week’s challenge brought us a beautiful celebration of nature’s own artistry. Our students ventured out into gardens, footpaths and fields to capture foxgloves, poppies, dandelions, bindweed and more. The results are a wonderful reminder of the beauty growing right on our doorsteps. From delicate watercolours to bold oils and even a striking Sumi-e ink wash, the variety of subjects and techniques on show this week was a real treat to see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was lovely to see how many students found their inspiration close to home, whether that was a chance sighting on a walk to the shops, a patch of colour in the garden, or a single bloom that simply caught the eye. Wild flowers have a way of inviting a closer look, and that sense of quiet observation really came through in this collection, alongside some beautifully poetic touches, from a wildflower collage paired with an Alice in Wonderland quote to thoughtful reflections on the tiny worlds tucked within a meadow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The range of media was equally varied, with students working in oils, watercolour, white gouache, coloured pencils and traditional Sumi-e ink, each bringing their own unique character to the theme. Whether bold and graphic or soft and delicate, every piece captured something of the charm and wildness of these humble flowers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thank you so much to everyone who took part and shared their work with us this week, it has been wonderful to see wild flowers through so many different artistic eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
