Welcome to our latest Weekend Art Challenge results post, and what a wonderful response we had to this week’s theme of houseplants! From lush tropical leaves to delicate slender fronds, our students brought their indoor green spaces to life in a glorious range of styles and mediums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We wanted to make a special shoutout to Ozlem’s White Gardenia, painted in Sumie on rice paper. There is something truly special about the way this traditional Japanese ink technique suits Ozlem’s delicate watercolour style, the patterns behind the Gardenia are wonderful don’t you think? We hope that it has left you all inspired! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thank you to everyone who took part and shared their work with us. The variety of subjects, mediums and styles on show this week was truly inspiring. Stay tuned for a new Weekend Art Challenge posted here on Friday!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a watercolour painting of a house fern – phlebodium! It lives in my dining room, all of these leaves are from the same plant, believe it or not, it always amazes me how different each leaf is! I\u2019ve painted each leaf a different colour so the variations of the leaves stands out more.
