One of the most liberating things about making art is that there is no single right way to do it. No prescribed path, no correct answer, no one medium or style or approach that trumps all others. Art is as individual as the person making it, and the moment you give yourself permission to follow your own creative instincts, something rather wonderful tends to happen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The four pieces here are a perfect illustration of that freedom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A mixed media collage of a tree frog, built from cut and layered papers against a background of intricate ink-drawn foliage, each element chosen and placed with a designer’s eye and an artist’s heart. It is playful, inventive and completely unlike anything else, the kind of piece that makes you look twice and then lean in for a third look. A glowing watercolour and pencil tree, its autumn canopy burning with oranges and reds against a soft, hazy sky, full of warmth and atmosphere and the particular magic that happens when two mediums work together in harmony. A pair of crocuses in ink and watercolour, precise and confident, their purple petals emerging from a scattering of earth with a freshness that feels genuinely springlike and alive. And a breathtakingly detailed botanical illustration of a sprawling, textured plant, every hairy stem and curling branch recorded with extraordinary patience and skill, a piece that rewards long, close looking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
