{"id":3538,"date":"2014-10-23T09:04:00","date_gmt":"2014-10-23T09:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.london-artcollege.co.uk\/news\/?p=3538"},"modified":"2014-10-23T09:04:00","modified_gmt":"2014-10-23T09:04:00","slug":"breathing-fire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.london-artcollege.co.uk\/news\/2014\/10\/breathing-fire\/","title":{"rendered":"Breathing Fire&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dylan Strugar is studying on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.londonartcollege.co.uk\/digital-illustration-course\/digital-illustration-course.htm\">Digital Illustration Diploma Course (D11)<\/a> with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.londonartcollege.co.uk\/tutors\/spencer-hill.htm\">Spencer Hill <\/a>and has created this very impressive\u00a0digital painting. \u00a0Dylan has written about his piece below, we hope that you find it inspiring!<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n<p>With this piece, I wanted to draw something\u00a0mystical and then use the\u00a0dodge tool to really bring out\u00a0it&#8217;s power. So I decided to paint a dragon (which is referenced)\u00a0and have him breath fire which was my own implement and then have the fire give off a really strong light which hit the dragons body. I also\u00a0used the burn tool on\u00a0the back of the dragon to make the contrast between the lights and darks very strong, to give the piece a powerful feeling. I decided not to use a bold outline as I wanted it look a bit more loose rather than neat and precise.<\/p>\n<p>Dylan Strugar<br \/>\nDigital Illustration<\/p>\n<p><a
