We are delighted to share some of the wonderful work produced by Lucy Jayne, who is currently studying on our Beginners’ Drawing Course<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lucy came to the course wanting to get back to drawing after a number of years focusing on other creative pursuits, and the work she has produced is a real testament to both her natural instinct and her willingness to dive into every exercise with energy and curiosity. Working across pencil, charcoal and pen and ink, she has explored a wonderfully varied range of subjects, from atmospheric woodland paths and dramatic lakeside landscapes, to intimate interior scenes, still life studies and figure drawing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her pen and ink work is particularly striking, with a bold, confident line and a lovely sense of texture and depth. The view from her kitchen window of the back garden, the winter flowers in a vase and the farmhouse landscape all show a student who is very much finding her own voice. Her pencil drawings are equally accomplished, with the woodland park scene showing impressive handling of tone and perspective, and the charcoal landscapes capturing real mood and atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is clear that Lucy approaches the course with genuine enthusiasm and a thoughtful, reflective attitude to her own progress, and we very much look forward to seeing how her drawing continues to develop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
