We are delighted to share some beautiful work from Arpapatch Sari, who is currently studying our Botanical Painting Diploma Course<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These two pieces, a softly glowing apple and a sunshine-yellow bell pepper, form part of Assignment 5: Fruit and Vegetables, and they are a wonderful example of the skill and observation that botanical painting demands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arpapatch has worked on Fluid 100 hot press watercolour paper using Daniel Smith watercolours, and the results are really lovely. The apple is particularly beautiful, warm rosy tones built up using colours including Quinacredone Coral, Aussie Red Gold and Carmine give the fruit a gorgeous luminosity, and those delicate leaves trailing from the stem add real elegance to the composition. The bell pepper is a masterclass in capturing that distinctive waxy sheen, rendered in Nickel Azo Yellow, Yellow Ochre and Olive Green, the lobes feel wonderfully three-dimensional and full of light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
