What makes something a \u201csuper find\u201d? It could be a lucky treasure spotted at a car boot sale, a well-loved object from a charity shop, a curious item found on a beach walk, or even a cherished everyday item that simply sparks joy. For this weekend\u2019s challenge, we asked our students to create a drawing or painting of something they had discovered and found interesting or delightful. Their very own \u201csuper find.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And what a variety we received! From quirky figurines and collected feathers to colourful shells and even an electric pencil sharpener (yes \u2014 and beautifully drawn at that!), each piece tells a story. The artwork is not only technically strong but full of love and personality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am Aubrey and am a new student on the Cartooning Diploma.
I have attached my first Weekend Art Challenge Submission for the school’s blog next week. I am a collector of Beano and Dandy memorabilia and found an amazing box of vintage badges and the original comic issues they were issued with at a local boot sale with my family. I then wore the Minnie the Minx one when I attended a cartooning workshop with the Beano artist Laura Howell shortly afterwards. Perfect find, and only 50p!!

This piece of Shrek and Donkey is a water bottle, I got it from Universal Studios in Singapore. It was free when I paid entry fee. So, a straw is at Shrek\u2019s head. Also head and upper chest are a screw lid of the bottle. It is not very user friendly as a water bottle, but I like it. I kept this since 2009.
