This weekend\u2019s theme is Chickens!<\/strong> Chickens are full of character \u2013 from their bright feathers and quirky expressions to the way they scratch, peck, and strut about. For this challenge, we would like you to create a drawing or painting inspired by chickens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You might focus on a single chicken in close detail, capture a group in the farmyard, or even try a quick sketch of their lively movements. Chickens come in so many shapes, sizes, and colours that there is plenty of choice and variety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can work in any medium \u2013 pencil, coloured pencil, pastel, watercolour, acrylics, digital art \u2013 the choice is yours. Whether you go for bold and colourful, or simple and sketchy, the aim is to capture their charm and personality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tutor\u2019s Tip:<\/strong> Pay close attention to the texture of the feathers and the bright red of the combs and wattles. A little contrast between soft plumage and sharper details can make your artwork really come alive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will be sharing some photo references for you to use, but you can also find your own inspiration. We are really looking forward to seeing your wonderful chicken artworks!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The idea of these challenges is to help students improve their skills by drawing, painting and creating regularly.

So try to submit work that you have created specifically for the challenge – or course work you are currently creating for your art course. Sometimes our challenge themes cross over with what students are learning. Our challenges are great practive for your coursework too!

Remember to submit your artwork to us via email if you would like it posted on our blog next week.

Email your artwork to us for inclusion on the blog next week. We sometimes take challenge posts submitted to our Facebook group to add to the collection, however we may miss some, so if you really want to see your work here, make sure you email it to us!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All students can take part and they can post their artwork on our main Facebook Group<\/a> to share with fellow students.
