This weekend\u2019s theme is \u201cAutumn Colours.\u201d<\/strong> Autumn is a season full of inspiration \u2013 rich golds, fiery reds, deep oranges, and soft browns. For this challenge, we would like you to create a piece of artwork inspired by the colours of autumn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You could paint or draw a woodland scene filled with falling leaves, capture the shapes of acorns, seed pods, and berries, or even create an abstract piece focusing only on the warm autumn palette. The choice is yours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You do not have to paint outdoors \u2013 simply gather a few leaves, conkers, or seasonal objects to study at home, or use your imagination to build an autumn scene. Think about the atmosphere too: misty mornings, low golden sunlight, or the cosy feel of the season indoors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tutor\u2019s Tip:<\/strong> Try limiting your palette to just three or four autumn shades and see how many different effects you can create with mixing and layering. Sometimes fewer colours give more harmony to a piece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are looking forward to seeing your creative interpretations of Autumn Colours<\/strong> \u2013 whether detailed studies or expressive paintings, let us celebrate the season together!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The idea of these challenges is to help students improve their skills by drawing, painting and creating regularly.

So try to submit work that you have created specifically for the challenge – or course work you are currently creating for your art course. Sometimes our challenge themes cross over with what students are learning. Our challenges are great practive for your coursework too!

Remember to submit your artwork to us via email if you would like it posted on our blog next week.
