We are delighted to share some colourful and imaginative illustrations by student Jacqueline Prothero, who completed our Illustrating Children\u2019s Books Diploma<\/a>. Jacqueline’s work captures a joyful energy and a clear sense of storytelling. We love ‘The Tortoise Who Wanted to Fly’ illustration, its so happy and jolly, we feel it would work beautifully in a children’s book. Plenty of movement and lots going on, enough to capture a little ones imagination. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jacqueline has also created a series of faces, each portraying a different emotion or personality trait. From \u201cJolly\u201d and \u201cPosh\u201d to \u201cWorried\u201d and \u201cSad.\u201d These types of facial studies are a great way to build confidence in drawing expressions and are an important skill in children\u2019s book illustration, where characters need to clearly convey feeling, often with very simple lines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Illustrating Children\u2019s Books Diploma is ideal for students who want to explore storytelling through imagery.
