Welcome to our latest weekend art challenge where we set our students the task of creating artwork where the subject begins with the letter H. Our students have excelled! From hedgehogs to highland cows, horses to hyacinths and even a hammerhead shark! We have received a brilliant mix of ideas, all beginning with the letter H. The variety in styles and techniques has been a real treat to see how each student brings their own interpretation to the theme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thank you to everyone who took part! Your creativity and effort really shines through. A new challenge will be released tomorrow, so don\u2019t forget to check back and join in again!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My contribution to the letter H is a hyacinth. For inspiration I looked at Pixabay. (Thank you, NiNi for the tip!) I painted on Meeden hot pressed watercolor paper using Sennelier and Prima watercolors. (Prima is a great mediary between watercolor and gouache.) I used a white Posca pen for highlights.\u00a0

I did Harry the hammerhead shark.
I covered an A3 piece of paper with tracing paper and painted it with children\u2019s paints and sprinkled some silver and blue glitter over it.
I added some foil pieces and cut out fish and shells.
Harry is painted with children\u2019s paint with goggly eyes.

I was inspired by my colleagues painting and drawing of Hyacinths. This is my version with watercolour. Colour used: ultramarine, cerulean blue, purple, Payne\u2019s grey, alizarin crimson, leaf green. I decided not to go too much details.
