Welcome to our latest weekend art challenge where we set our students the task of creating a painting or drawing using a single colour. It’s a lots tricker than you might think but it was a very popular challenge! We have received some amazing pieces from our students which we hope you enjoy viewing below. For this challenge I used black paper stuck on to textured paper.
On the black paper I used oil pastels and on the textured paper I used chalk pastels. I chose to draw an apple.

I limited myself to only using the green pencils in my possession. That meant no mixing greens from other colour combinations and as a result was quite limiting but thoroughly enjoyable.

My cat Sandi is a grey and white cat. This is with watercolour. I only use Paynes Grey. I used white pen for highlights and whiskers.

My submission for the weekend art challenge called \u201cSnow scene in red\u201d. It\u2019s a step away from my comfort zone as it\u2019s mixed media (acrylic, oil pastel and coloured pencil) and landscape.

One is an illustration of the song lyrics for \u2018Baobhan Sith\u2019 and the other is for the limerick \u2018There once was a man from Nantucket\u2019. The first was just done in pen and ink whilst the second used pen and ink and watercolour.
