Welcome to this weekends art challenge all about wild flowers. We would like for you to look at the wild flowers you find around you in your local area and try to draw or paint them and let us know what they are called. Perhaps they are flowers that only grow in your country or region, perhaps you live by the sea and you have unique plants to that area.

Whatever you choose to draw or paint, let your style show through. You might like to make it more of a sketch book idea and go out and draw and colour the plants you find around you so that you can come back home to research them. Create a nature journal with delicate studies in pencil, coloured pencil or watercolour. The flower names and perhaps even their Latin names hand written next to them would be a lovely addition.

There are so many ideas for this challenge and we hope that you find lots of enjoyment in studying the flora around you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The idea of these challenges is to help students improve their skills by drawing, painting and creating regularly.

So try to submit work that you have created specifically for the challenge – or course work you are currently creating for your art course. Sometimes our challenge themes cross over with what students are learning. Our challenges are great practive for your coursework too!

Remember to submit your artwork to us via email if you would like it posted on our blog next week.
