We would like to heartily congratulate student Kathryn Olley in winning Lancashire Artist of the Year 2024. Her stunning artwork ‘Beautiful Blackpool’ secured the most votes from the public in this years competition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kathryn has written us a piece below along with her beautiful artwork to share with our readers. Congratulations Kathryn, very well deserved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My name is Kathryn a student at the London Art College. I’m a local artist from Lytham St Annes. I am reaching out to share my incredible news of being named Lancashire Artist of the Year 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My winning artwork was shortlisted out of hundreds of works by a panel of judges then sent to a public vote. There were over 3400 votes cast when I was named the overall winner with my painting named \u201cBeautiful Blackpool\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is now on the front cover of Lancashire County Council calendars where you can purchase these in Lancashire library\u2019s and Lancashire museums. All proceeds got towards Lancashire Care Leavers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have also made prints and cards of my winning piece and will be donating 10% to a local charity in Blackpool, CITC – Counselling In The Community is a local charity making counselling affordable and accessible to all, across Blackpool, Wyre and the Fylde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
