Welcome to our latest weekend art challenge where we set our students the task of creating paintings and drawings of waterfalls. Waterfalls are a fantastic subject to tackle as you have the opportunity of capturing the dynamic interplay between water, light, and landscape. Students can to explore movement and texture. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our students have beautifully depicted not only the power of the waterfalls in their artwork but also the serene beauty through their paintings and drawings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those who haven\u2019t yet participated in our challenge and are inspired to give it a go, painting or drawing a waterfall can be a rewarding experience. Wed love for you to give it a go. Don\u2019t be afraid to experiment with different techniques, like using a wet-on-wet approach in watercolour to capture the softness of mist or layering different shades of blue and white to create the illusion of rushing water. The key is to immerse yourself in the scene and let your creativity flow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was a very useful challenge and I enjoyed checking out the references supplied. My waterfall is based on a photo taken in the Brecon Beacons earlier this summer.
