I decided to embark on the London Art College\u2019s Drawing and Painting course<\/a> during the lockdowns. I\u2019ve always enjoyed drawing but the drawing and painting course really pushed me out of my comfort zone. I suddenly had to tackle perspective, boxers, and drawing with ink and twigs!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As time slipped away and the world opened up. I found I needed an extension to complete the last few exercises. I really enjoyed trying out different mediums that I may have never considered. Mostly Indian ink and charcoal. As an author, I\u2019ve always painted pictures with words. Painting and drawing is another lovely way of expressing myself. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because the course was so broad, I discovered my strengths and weaknesses. I know that watercolour will always be my nemesis – haha. Sometimes a person finds out what they don\u2019t enjoy through such an extensive process. But, I love oil paints and pencil drawing. Pen and acrylics come a close second. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The drawing I enjoyed doing the most was the chess player. The subject is my husband playing with my deceased, great-uncle Eugene\u2019s very unevenly handmade chess pieces. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for my tutor, Paul Weaver, I couldn\u2019t have asked for a more knowledgeable and warm person to help me through the course. It was lovely listening to his feedback and helpful tips at the end of every unit. The videos on the LAC website were an excellent tool, too. Thank you, Paul! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
