There\u2019s nothing like a major life event ( in my case an impending 50th Birthday) to make you re-evaluate what you hope to achieve in life. I had always enjoyed being creative but lacked the knowledge and direction to pursue drawing\/painting.  I dabbled with painting but I was frequently frustrated with the results. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I found the college\u00a0website and knew that \u00a0the\u00a0drawing and painting course<\/a> was exactly what I needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was with some intrepidation that I began the course as an absolute beginner. Paul Weaver was exceptionally patient as I progressed through the assignments and I think it\u2019s fair to say it took a while for all the learning to click in to place. Paul\u2019s guidance was invaluable and above all encouraging. The course takes you through plenty of different mediums, graphite, pencils, pen, charcoal, water colour, acrylics and my favourite, oil paints. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I thoroughly enjoyed experimenting with different mediums, subjects and learning about techniques. I am grateful to the college and to Paul for providing me with the skills and confidence to keep on painting and learning.  The biggest takeaway from this course for me is to observe, observe and observe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
