2 AWARDS AT PATCHINGS ART FESTIVAL 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m delighted to announce that my watercolour ‘Underfall Boat Yard, Bristol’<\/em><\/strong> has received 2 awards at this year’s exhibition and competition in ‘The Artist’ Professional category at the Patchings Art Centre in Nottingham. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve always found harbours and boat yards inspiring places to paint and earlier this year, I gained permission to paint in the Underfall Yard in the heart of Bristol harbour, with the ambition of finding a subject for this event. It\u2019s a superb location and I was immediately taken with this view of a boat under repair with a foreground of quayside clutter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I produced several sketches and a watercolour study onsite, then used this as my reference to paint the larger piece back in the studio.
The painting has been awarded one of 3 Daler-Rowney Awards and I have also been selected as one of 10 artists’ to take part in a finalists\u2019 show at Patchings Art Centre next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The judges only select 70 works from an international submission, so I feel very honoured to have gained a place on the wall, let alone 2 awards!
