Weekend Art Challenge Results!

Welcome to the results of our latest Weekend Art Challenge, where we invited our students to celebrate the glorious colours of autumn. There really is no lovelier time of year for an artist, with those warm reds, golden yellows and oranges everywhere you look. The whole gallery this week glows!

The variety our students have created is wonderful. Alongside drifts of autumn leaves and richly coloured trees, we have a happy little hedgehog scurrying home through the orchard with an apple on his spines, a busy squirrel among the falling leaves, and even a striking portrait worked entirely in autumn tones using a delicate pointillism technique. The mediums are just as varied, with watercolour, fine liner, acrylics, brush pens and mixed media collage all making an appearance, each bringing the season to life in its own way. It is lovely to see so many different takes on a single theme.

Thank you to everyone who took part and shared such warm, seasonal work. We hope you enjoyed this one as much as we did, and do stay tuned, because a brand new Weekend Art Challenge will be posted here tomorrow. We cannot wait to see what you create next.

Here’s a happy hedgehog, he was walking through an orchard with the leaves falling all around him, when a lovely rosy red apple fell and landed on his spines! He’s hurrying home now to have a feast! Made using watercolour and fine liner
