We are very pleased to congratulate Benjamin Magesh on successfully completing the Landscape Painting Diploma Course with tutor Alan Dedman and achieving a well deserved Distinction.
Benjamin has shown both creativity and technical skill throughout his coursework. His paintings demonstrate a strong command of colour, composition and atmosphere, while also showing his willingness to experiment with different approaches to landscape.
One of his pieces, Rustic Landscape, captures a warm earthy path leading into lush greenery. The composition draws the eye towards a solitary figure, inviting the viewer to step into the scene and feel the quiet rhythm of rural life.
In contrast, his Surreal Landscape takes a much more imaginative approach. By breaking the mountainous view into fragmented shapes, Benjamin has created a dynamic and abstract interpretation of a traditional subject. The work combines realism with a bold conceptual edge, showing his ability to adapt and push beyond convention. The first image below shows the painting in progress.
The Landscape Painting Diploma Course encourages students to explore a wide range of styles and techniques, from traditional studies of light and form to more experimental approaches to space and composition. Students receive feedback and guidance from their tutor, helping them to develop their own artistic voice while building a strong foundation in landscape painting.
